The embedded YouTube player requires JavaScript, but the one used by a third-party frontend called Invidious doesn't. It's possible to redirect YouTube requests to an Invidious instance using a browser extension such as Redirector. Here's a JSON file with the rule that I use to redirect to inv.nadeko.net. You just need to import it in extension settings.
Keep in mind that YouTube is trying really hard to crack down on third-party frontends. This solution does work while I'm writing this, but it might break at any moment and usually breaks periodically because Invidious server operators need time to adjust to whatever new BS Google comes up with every once in a while.
