Cassandra made up her mind to destroy Soul Edge in her sister's place. She dashed out of her home and headed out into the world with determination in her heart, but she met with an unexpected turn of events. When she was investigating a city that was covered in evil energy, cracks appeared in the sword and shield she had taken from the temple of Hephaestus.
She was momentarily daunted, but quickly recovered. She decided to return to Greece temporarily to talk to her brother-in-law, Rothion, who was a blacksmith. Once she arrived back home, however, she was told that her sister Sophitia had, of her own free will, once again set out on a journey to destroy Soul Edge. Cassandra vowed to stand by her sister's side and aid her in any way she could. She received a new sword and shield from Rothion and once again set out on her journey.Proceed below...
Her sister had disappeared again. Their god was always like that. Cassandra ran to the temple of Hephaestus. Before she left Greece, she had a few things she wanted to tell him!
A short while later, Cassandra was ready to leave the temple. Suddenly, she felt a cold chill and surveyed her surroundings. What she felt was an inhuman presence. She drew her weapon in preparation for dealing with this unknown enemy.
VERSUS REVENANT!
The skeletal puppet was now an unmoving pile of bones on the ground. From the way it had spent the entire time trying to grab her sword and shield, Cassandra judged that its objective had been the sacred iron. This was nothing more than a puppet, however. Someone had to have been controlling it. She was concerned about who it was, but right now, she needed to catch up to her sister.
...Still, was it really okay to ignore the matter? Cassandra grew uneasy.
Search for the one who had controlled the skeleton.
Searching for her sister was important, but right now, she couldn't afford to lose this clue. At least she had to find out who was behind it! The one who had controlled the skeleton must be a sorcerer. Cassandra hadn't believed in magic, but knowing that there were such things as gods, magic didn't seem particularly far-fetched, either. Fortunately, the number of real sorcerers was limited. Cassandra entered the mansion of a woman who was supposedly the greatest sorcerer of her time.
VERSUS IVY!
The alchemist had not been the controller of the skeletal puppet, but she did know who it might be: a mysterious man with a scythe. And that man was involved with Soul Edge... The woman likely knew more than she told, but that was all Cassandra was able to obtain from her.
Proceed below...
Cassandra decided that she could find the man if she pursued Soul Edge. She set out in search of the cursed sword.
Tira Event
VERSUS TIRA!
The girl slipped away and ran. For a while, Cassandra stayed on guard for a surprise attack, but she eventually sheathed her sword. The feeling of the enemy's presence was already gone. In the air above, however, circled a number of black birds. She could not help but feel she was being watched. The evil energy in this land was thick, and she did not feel well...
As Cassandra travelled in search of information about Soul Edge, she began to hear rumours of someone who sounded like her sister. Eventually, she went to Toledo to see a man who was said to be knowledgeable about the cursed sword. Cassandra found herself hurrying. If the person she had heard rumours about was in fact her sister, then Sophitia should be here now.
Cassandra searched for the man's mansion. She broke into a startled run at the sight that greeted her eyes. The mansion was on fire!
Inside the burning building, Cassandra defeated the woman who had presumably set the fire, but the flames did not abate.
The next morning, now reunited with Sophitia, Cassandra's sister told her of a girl who called herself a servant of the cursed sword. The girl was after Cassandra's young niece and nephew.
Cassandra told her sister to return home.
"Watch over your home, Sophitia. I'll destroy Soul Edge, okay?"
Sophitia expressed concern for her, but Cassandra told Sophitia that there was no need to take on everything by herself, and that it was a mother's job to watch over her children.

After parting with Sophitia, Cassandra's journey continued. Using what her sister had discovered about Soul Edge as clues, she travelled across Europe in search of the cursed sword.
One day, she had an unexpected encounter with a man wielding a scythe, who claimed to know of Soul Edge. Cassandra remembered the words of the alchemist. This was the man who had controlled the skeleton! Right now, he shouldn't yet know that Cassandra knew about him...
Clock Tower Event
VERSUS ZASALAMEL!
The man had laid a trap for her. Had he known that Cassandra suspected him? After the battle, the man melted away into the shadows. Cassandra stood there for a while, but eventually gathered herself together and left the clock tower. It seemed there would be no avoiding this man if she were to pursue Soul Edge. He had gotten the better of her this time, but she wasn't going to let that happen again!
Go here if a continue was spent fighting Zasalamel.

Afterwards, Cassandra continued her quest across the world in search of information about Soul Edge. Eventually, she learned of an organisation in an island country in the Far East that was rumoured to be collecting fragments of Soul Edge. Cassandra travelled to this island known as Japan.
She gathered more detailed information in Japan, but it seemed she had been following false clues. The area she was now in was about to become a battlefield!
VERSUS MITSURUGI!
Proceed below...
Perhaps they had realised she was investigating them, for she was unable to obtain any further information about the organisation. Cassandra eventually gave up and returned to the mainland.
When she entered Ming, she learned that this empire had once sent out teams to search for Soul Edge. She located a mansion in which information regarding that project was collected, and decided that it was imperative she get hold of it...
VERSUS XIANGHUA!
Otherwise, proceed below...
She skillfully defeated the guard and obtained the information she sought. Ming had tried several times in the past to locate the Sword of Heroes, but they had yet to have any success. In other words, Soul Edge was not in this country.
After carefully looking over the information she had obtained, she headed west. The city at which she eventually arrived had already been destroyed. Had it been his handiwork? As she pondered this, she was suddenly attacked!
VERSUS BERSERKER!
Using the clues she had obtained, Cassandra steadily closed in on Soul Edge. When she discovered a cathedral in a remote area, she knew she had located Soul Edge.

The inside of the cathedral was shrouded in silence. Only the sound of her own footsteps echoed, but she suddenly felt the presence of someone other than herself and surveyed her surroundings. Someone filled with evil energy was lurking nearby!

Lost Cathedral Siegfried Event
VERSUS SIEGFRIED!
The Azure Knight, Nightmare, wielder of Soul Edge, had once dwelt in this castle. She might be able to find something here, something that would serve as a clue in her pursuit of Soul Edge. Cassandra explored the castle. Upon seeing the familiar form of her sister Sophitia, Cassandra immediately called out and ran to her. Sophitia was surprised to see her too, but her smile soon vanished.
Sophitia did not want to put Cassandra in danger. With a stern expression, she told Cassandra that the duty to deal with Soul Edge was hers alone.
"It doesn't involve you, Cassandra. Go home."
But Cassandra shared the same concern for her sister. As long as Cassandra had any power at all to fight the cursed sword, she couldn't push the entire responsibility onto Sophitia!
VERSUS SOPHITIA!
Sophitia understood Cassandra's feelings. Sighing, she thanked Cassandra, but still told her to return home. When Cassandra asked why, Sophitia told her of a girl who called herself a servant of the cursed sword.

Clock Tower Event
"The Azure Knight, Nightmare, has arisen once more and now travels east in search of the power he has lost. If you desire Soul Edge, then seek him out..."
Saying this, the man melted away into the shadows. Left alone, Cassandra thought to herself. The man had laid a trap for her. Had he realised that she suspected him? Then was this too, a trap?
Consider the man's words to be a trap.
Follow the man's words and head east.
Cassandra couldn't trust a man who had set a trap for her. She gathered information on her own and eventually confirmed that the Azure Knight had left for the east.
As she headed east in pursuit of the knight, she heard rumours of a port city where a pack of monsters had appeared several years before. As she was investigating this incident at the port, she got into an argument with a man. It seemed he thought she was merely a tourist investigating the incident out of curiosity. For some reason, he considered that an offense.
Proceed below...
VERSUS MAXI!
It seemed that the massacre caused by the pack of monsters was an incident the port residents wanted to forget. Cassandra wasn't able to learn any details about it, but there was one bit of interesting information. A creature resembling the monsters that had once appeared there had been spotted recently.
Following that information, she headed north and stepped onto the Silk Road. Her intuition told her that the pack of monsters had something to do with Soul Edge...
Proceed below...
VERSUS LIZARDMAN!
According to the information she had heard in India, monsters like this had travelled in packs, but there was no sign of any others. It seemed this one had been separated from its pack.
She obtained a fragment of Soul Edge from her defeated enemy and noticed that it was resonating with evil. If she traced this reaction, she was certain it would lead her to Soul Edge!
Proceed below...
Using the resonation of evil energy as a clue, Cassandra continued her journey. She encountered a group of travelling merchants who said that they had seen a knight carrying an enormous sword. A knight with a giant sword... Was it the Azure Knight?
After learning all she could from the merchants, Cassandra immediately began pursuing the knight. The city at which she eventually arrived had already been destroyed. Had it been his handiwork?
As she pondered this, she was suddenly attacked!
VERSUS TALIM!
The girl introduced herself as Talim and apologised, explaining that she had mistaken Cassandra for a bandit. From what Talim told her, Cassandra was now certain that the knight she was pursuing was the Azure Knight, the wielder of Soul Edge. Following that trail, she arrived at a cathedral in a remote area. The Azure Knight was here!
Cassandra continued her journey in search of Sophitia. Following rumours of a woman who was pursuing Soul Edge, Cassandra eventually arrived in the city of Toledo. It was said that there was a man here who was knowledgeable about the cursed sword. If the woman Cassandra was following was in fact her sister, Sophitia should be right in the middle of visiting him.
Cassandra searched for the man's mansion. She broke into a startled run at the sight that greeted her eyes. The mansion was on fire!
VERSUS ASSASSIN!
Inside the burning building, Cassandra defeated the woman who had presumably set the fire, but the flames continued to burn.
The next morning, now reunited with Sophitia, Cassandra was told of a girl who called herself a servant of the cursed sword. The girl was after Cassandra's young niece and nephew.

Clock Tower Event
VERSUS ZASALAMEL!
"'The sword?'...Do you mean Soul Edge?!"
"I place my curse upon you, you who fear not the gods..."
The man with the scythe disappeared into the darkness without answering her question. There was no doubt that he knew something...and it was probably something about Soul Edge!
Continue searching for Soul Edge.
It may be dangerous, but pursue the man with the scythe.
Cassandra travelled across the land in search of information about Soul Edge. Based on what she learned, she became convinced that a man who had been feared throughout Europe several years ago as the "Azure Knight" had wielded Soul Edge. The bizarrely-shaped great sword that he had wielded must have been Soul Edge.
The Azure Knight had not been seen for several years, but had recently reappeared. The rumours said that he had left for the east...
Focus the search on Soul Edge.
Focus the search on the Azure Knight.
Pursuing the Azure Knight, who was said to have left for the east, Cassandra left Europe. As she headed east along the Silk Road, she searched for rumours of him, but found nothing that sounded promising.
Eventually, she came to learn of a young man who was apparently searching for Soul Edge, just as she was. Who was this person? He might have useful information. Cassandra entered the mountains where the man was said to live
VERSUS KILIK!
The young man had tried to persuade Cassandra to give up her quest to destroy Soul Edge because it was too dangerous, but she had bested him in a test of skill. Cassandra smiled a confident smile. Surprised, the man acknowledged her strength and told her what he knew.

Cassandra descended from the mountains and continued her journey. She had heard a rumour that the desert temple of a heretical cult had been destroyed and she sensed the work of the cursed sword. Cassandra entered the desert.

She noticed that the fragment was resonating faintly and followed that resonation east. The temple at which she eventually arrived was covered in a thick evil energy. The resonation of the fragment was so strong it was painful to hold!
VERSUS SEONG MI-NA!
It seemed the fragment Cassandra carried had caused the woman to mistake her for someone who had been possessed by evil energy. The woman apologised and told Cassandra what she knew of the cursed sword. She too, was on a quest to destroy it.
Go here if Seong Mi-na was rung out.
Otherwise, proceed below...
Amongst the information that was new to Cassandra were rumours of a man who boasted that he would destroy Soul Edge. Who was this person?
Conclude that it's nothing more than empty boasting.
Her journey continued. Seeking information, she travelled to a port in India through which a steady stream of people from both east and west passed. There, she heard rumours of a lizard-like warrior monster. According to the stories, a pack of similar monsters had once appeared in the port in the past.
Following that information, she headed north and stepped onto the Silk Road. Her intuition told her that the pack of monsters had something to do with Soul Edge...
Cassandra set out to find this man who boasted that he was more powerful than Soul Edge. But when she arrived, she learned that he had been holed up inside the ruins of a giant labyrinth for some time. Many had become lost in the labyrinth and never seen again, and some people even tried to stop her from going there.
Upon seeing the ominous appearance of the entrance, Cassandra understood why the local people feared it. She lit her torch and stepped inside.
VERSUS RAPHAEL!
The man who appeared had been cloaked in evil energy. He must have been searching for the warrior here in order to obtain information about Soul Edge. It was fortunate that she had been able to stop his ambition here.
A gentle flowing breeze told her that an exit was nearby. She was almost out of food and her strength was recovering poorly.
As she proceeded further in, the air grew thicker. For a while, she had been feeling as if there were someone following her, and that feeling made her all the more nervous.
A few moments later, Cassandra realized that the distance between her and her pursuer was shrinking!
VERSUS UNKNOWN SOUL! (LI-LONG)
He had been very skilled. Even his retreat had been flawless. He was obviously more than a mere bandit. Was he too, searching for Soul Edge?
Go here is a continue was spent at any time up to this point.
Just how deep was this labyrinth? She wasn't even sure if she was headed for the centre anymore. But there was nothing to do now but keep going.
Suddenly, Cassandra sensed a fierce battle lust from deep within the darkness. Greasy sweat poured from all of her pores and a chill went down her spine. It had been some time since she'd felt a presence like this. It was as if the darkness was trying to swallow her whole!

She could surely learn more from the mysterious man. With her characteristic determination, Cassandra searched for him, but already no sign of him remained.
She continued looking for him, but was unable to find anything. He had disappeared without a trace. She had no choice but to give up and resume her search for Soul Edge.

As she searched for information that might be related to Soul Edge, Cassandra heard a rumour of a temple in Egypt that had recently been destroyed. Startlingly, the destruction had been done with a sword. It would take something of great power to accomplish such a feat.
Cassandra felt that Soul Edge had been involved in the incident and headed for Egypt.
VERSUS YUN-SEONG!
She had defeated the man she had encountered in the temple, but she couldn't imagine that he was the one who had destroyed it. She gathered information in this land and learned that the Azure Knight, the likely perpetrator, had set out to sea. So, the cursed sword was involved in this incident! Cassandra headed for the port and snuck onboard a convenient ship.
Proceed below...
After eventually leaving the Mediterranean and entering the outside sea, they were attacked by pirates. And it seemed they were no ordinary pirates...
Cervantes Event
VERSUS CERVANTES!
The sacred sword and shield she carried were reacting strongly. Cassandra had defeated her inhuman opponent, but her ship was destroyed, and she was tossed into the sea. Never mind searching for the Azure Knight -- at this rate, even her life was in danger. Clinging to the wreckage, she drifted on the waves. Should she act while she still had her strength, or preserve her strength instead...?
Hold onto the plank and try to swim towards land.
Cassandra headed in what she thought was the right direction, but no matter how far she swam, there was no sign of land. Eventually, she was rescued by a ship bound for India and wound up heading east.
She disembarked at a port city where a pack of monsters were said to have appeared several years ago. As she was investigating this incident, she got into an argument with a man. It seemed he thought she was merely a tourist investigating the incident out of curiosity. For some reason, he considered that an offense.
Cassandra was eventually rescued by a ship, but the ship was headed for Asia. She found herself thrust into a foreign land, but she continued her search for information about the cursed sword with her characteristic determination.
Cassandra left Europe and headed east in search of information about the Azure Knight. The world was a big place, however, and she had trouble finding anything of use. But she did not give up.
She continued her journey with her characteristic determination and eventually learned that, in an island country in the Far East, there existed an organisation that was collecting fragments of Soul Edge. Having obtained her first real information in a while, Cassandra headed straight for Japan.
VERSUS SETSUKA!
She lost too much time dealing with the mansion's guard and was forced to flee without gaining any real information. She ran to the port before her pursuers arrived and snuck onto a ship bound for Europe.
Afterwards, Cassandra continued undaunted her search for the cursed sword. She noted that Soul Edge was known as the ultimate weapon and headed for an arena where strong warriors gathered. Surely there would be someone there who knew of Soul Edge!
VERSUS GLADIATOR (IRON SWORD)!
VERSUS GLADIATOR (SWORD AND SHIELD)!
VERSUS ROCK!
Using the clues she had obtained, Cassandra steadily closed in on Soul Edge. When she discovered a cathedral in a remote area, she knew she had located Soul Edge.
Afterwards, Cassandra continued her quest across the world in search of information about Soul Edge. Eventually, she learned of an organisation in an island country in the Far East that was rumoured to be collecting fragments of Soul Edge. Cassandra travelled to this island known as Japan.
Investigating this organisation in Japan, she eventually arrived at a Great Buddha shrine that had been secretly constructed beneath a temple in the capital...
VERSUS TAKI!
She didn't find the rumoured fragments, but she did obtain a short sword that radiated evil energy. The sword was resonating, and that reaction would surely lead to Soul Edge.
But her elation was short-lived. She felt something wrong with her body. She was strangely exhausted, and her strength would not recover. The image of the man with the scythe flashed through the back of her mind. "I place my curse upon you." Those were the words he said when he left!
Continue the quest carefully while preserving strength.
There's no such thing as curses. Continue the quest normally.
Fragments of Soul Edge were supposedly being collected in this country. Cassandra used the short sword she had obtained as a clue and continued her quest. She soon discovered that the fragments were located in a cave beneath Mt. Fuji. Cassandra infiltrated the cave and defeated the bandits that appeared before her one after another, but her fatigue was clearly building. The curse was real. As she was starting to show signs of exhaustion, a single bandit appeared before her...
VERSUS YOSHIMITSU!

All the while, struggling against the curse, she closed in on Soul Edge using the clues she had found. She returned to Europe once again and felt that she was drawing near to the source of the reaction she was tracing. It might be the cursed sword itself.
Upon eventually arriving at her destination, she realised that it was the city filled with evil energy that she had visited previously. Was Soul Edge here? The reaction of the short sword pointed toward the castle in the city...
VERSUS RAPHAEL!
The castle lord who was the source of the chaos had been steeped in evil energy. There was no question that the tragedy in this land was caused by Soul Edge.
The short sword's resonation did not cease. Soul Edge lay elsewhere. She had to put an end to the root of all this evil. She had to destroy Soul Edge!
Stay in this land for a while and rest.
Leave this land immediately to destroy Soul Edge as soon as possible.
She had to complete her objective before the curse overcame her body. Cassandra resumed her quest for the cursed sword.
Led by the resonation, she came to a small island floating in the Mediterranean Sea. There, she discovered a number of fragments of Soul Edge gathered at the bottom of a vertical shaft dug into the island. They were radiating powerful evil energy. She had to do something about them. As she thought to herself, someone silently closed in on her!
VERSUS VOLDO!
Cassandra stayed in this land for a while to both rest and gather information. The curse showed no signs of abating and she rested little, but she obtained valuable information. The castle lord had left a large volume of records behind. It seemed he too, had been searching for Soul Edge.
Proceed below...
Afterwards, Cassandra continued pursuing Soul Edge and finally arrived at the place where the showdown would take place. It was a cathedral in an area far from civilisation. Soul Edge was here!
